Tamiya Bruiser Mountaineer Vintage Rolling Chassis Axles Transmission Motor. This is a vintage Tamiya Bruiser/Mountaineer rolling chassis. This includes a Tamiya Bruiser steel chassis, front & rear axles, three speed transmission with motor, front and rear drive shafts, transmission shift rod linkage, front steering linkage, radius arms, leaf spring suspension with shocks, U-Bolts, and a full set of tires and wheels. Everything is from a vintage Tamiya Bruiser, model number 58048, production years 1985 to 1992. This would be great as a basis for a custom crawler project or a restoration project. All that’s needed to get this running is electronics. A 3-channel receiver/transmitter with a 3-position third channel would be required to shift the transmission. Visual inspection suggests this is in very good condition. This was tested with modern electronics and the transmission and axle gears appear to be functional but they have not been disassembled for thorough inspection. We have found no obvious evidence these parts wont function as expected, but we cant guarantee absolute running condition as delivered or that parts might not become damaged after being used as a functional RC vehicle. This is a vintage item and should be considered a restoration project, additional work might be required to reach perfect running condition, and further maintenance might be required to continue use.
