Up for grabs is a vintage tamiya 1/10 scale Toyota Bruiser 4X4 truck from the 1980s. Looks to be mechanically sound, all components are present as far as the chassis, steering, axles, suspension and gearbox goes. Electrical wise you have the original 540 can motor, all 3 servos, ESC, receiver box and aerial. Missing are the original battery (6V) and rare controller, wish I had gotten that as well. This was a garage sale find and I got all that was there. Glad to have picked up on this. Beautiful leaf spring suspension that does work, a little too much truck weight but it holds u just as designed. The gearbox has the 3 rubber plugs missing, those can be bought from the re-release for cheap. The shafts turn and they do engage the gears in the axle. I only turned them back and forth, can not turn them round as the gearing in the tranny will not let me but nothing is broken inside the axle as far as I can see. From outside I can see that the brass axles are worn a bit, still they will run or change those to newer metal ones, just as good looking and stronger. The axles, rear and front look to be in excellent condition cosmetically, The front has NO scratches at all while the rear has 2 shallow ones under the pumpkin, these are cast metal axles and quite compact, amazing how they got this truck so scale like. Tires are in great condition, the rears are locked in place. I found that the fronts have a one way bearing deal, where they rotate freely if moving forward but lock if you turn the tire backwards, this happened on one of the front tires only, the front RH was moving freely in both directions, looks to be something broken in the hub, not sure but that is what it seems like, never owned one of these before so I would not know the details. Again I have not hooked this truck up and tested or run it. The body is in good ok condition, will need a paint strip and a paint job for sure. The front LH beam is broken so is the back section below the back window pane. Those are the only 2 cracks I see. At the bottom it reads’tamiya 1/10 scale RC toyota 4X4′ On the other side’ MADE IN JAPAN. Missing are the front head reflectors and lenses. The other pieces are present, please see images. A container contains bits and pieces of what looks to be gearbox pieces as used spares, rear window cover, bottom electronic servo cover, bearings, set screws, servo savers, gear selector levers etc. Ask any questions you may have. PLEASE NOTE – This was stored away in a garage, so it collected dust, i washed the body in soap and water and just dusted off the dust from the chassis and tires. I did not need to do anything else.
