That is my plan unless I find a box. My buddy I got these from did have some parts from a 1963 Polara and 1962 Fury so I would guess it prolly came off the Polara. Up for sale is a rare, original vintage factory OEM Mopar 3-inch steel driveshaft assembly featuring the highly desirable, early-generation. This unique assembly is an authentic Chrysler survivor core, perfect for a period-correct early 1960s muscle car restoration, Max Wedge clone build, or vintage drag racing project. Please review the exact physical measurements and spline configurations below to confirm a proper fit for your vintage project car. Drivetrain & Component Specifications. Early-generation Mopar A-727 pattern featuring the factory smooth-bore internal counterbore and distinct concentric outer steel shield/shroud. 27-Spline total Physically counts as. 26 raised splines plus 1 wide master alignment/indexing gap. This is the industry-standard “27 on 30″ layout made to slide directly onto a 30-spline Mopar A-727 TorqueFlite automatic output shaft. The splines sit down in the yoke tube 2 to 3 inches they are not out at the edge. Original 3.00-inch Outer Diameter (OD) heavy-wall steel main tube stamped with factory. Mopar 7260 Series (“Small Mopar”) – 1-1/16″ (1.078″) cap diameter with inside snap rings. Mopar 7290 Series (“Large Mopar”) – 1-1/8″ (1.125″) cap diameter with inside snap rings. Exactly 58 inches (measured from the center of the front universal joint cross to the center of the rear universal joint cross). Slip Yoke Barrel Outer Diameter (OD). 1-11/16 inches (1.680). Slip Yoke Total Length. 7-1/4 inches (7.25). Vehicle Application & Fitment. This 58-inch configuration is a direct factory fitment for. 1962 to 1965 mid-size (B-Body) and full-size (C-Body) Mopar vehicles. Running an early-generation A-727 automatic transmission backed by an 8-3/4 inch rear differential. Direct Factory Fitments Include. Dodge Dart (1962), Polara, 330, 440, Plymouth Fury, Belvedere, Savoy (Commonly found behind Max Wedge 413/426 and early 426 Street Wedge V8 setups). Early-production variants of the Chrysler Newport, 300, New Yorker, or Plymouth Fury utilizing the early slip-style A-727 output. Excellent vintage core condition. The main 3-inch steel tube and outer yoke shroud show typical light surface rust from decades of storage but are completely straight with no dents, bends, twists, or deep structural metal pitting. The internal splines are clean and sharp, and the outer yoke barrel is smooth. Universal joints are intact but should be replaced before vehicle installation as a routine maintenance item.
